Prep Time15 mins
Cook Time40 mins

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples of choice
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (divided)
  • ½ a lemon juiced
  • ¾ cup rolled oats
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour (sub GF AP flour)
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ½ cup butter (one stick) cut into ¼" cubes

Instructions

  • Using the stick of butter you'll later cut into ¼" pieces, grease an 8x8 baking dish or cast iron and set the greased dish aside and place the remaining butter in the fridge. Preheat the oven to 350°F
  • Toss the apples in a medium bowl with the granulated sugar, cornstarch, ½ tsp cinnamon, and lemon juice. Add the apple mixture to the greased baking dish.
  • Using the same bowl, toss together the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and butter together. Use your hands to flatten the pieces of butter by pinching them between your finger tips. Then squeeze the mixture together until the butter is fully incorporated into the mixture and it resembles wet sand.
  • Evenly pour the crumble topping on top of the apples. Bake 40-60 minutes or until the apples are bubbling and the crumble topping is golden-brown.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream, ice cream, or even yogurt at breakfast time!
